You were created creative!

Being someone who likes to play with so many forms of creative expression, I often hear the lament "o, i wish i was creative!", " I haven't got a creative bone in my body!"

Nothing, ABSOLUTELY nothing, could be further from the truth!

If you have a right brain( and if you're alive, you do!!),  then baby, you have access to more creativity than you've ever dreamed possible.

Being born creative means being the creator of your own life and destiny. Don't let someone else do it, or let it come by default. Take control and design your own. Draw it into being.

Shortly, I will post some material on this page to help you realize just what you've been duped out of for so long. Till then, start practicing new ways of seeing.

Here's a little exercise to get you started:

1. Find yourself three new or used magazines from three different genres..eg National Geographic,  a woman's magazine, and a specialty (finance and business/boats/craft/travel) 
2. Find an image from each that strikes a certain resonance within you. You don't have to know why.
3. Flick through the mags and cut out some random words and/or phrases,10-20 items. 
   
4. Now take turns at looking at the images with different captions built from some of your words and phrases. Consider each element within the image:colour, line, people, objects, action, expression, mood.
   
5. Write as many different short descriptions of what the image could be about when viewed in light of the various captions. Try to emphasize individual elements  in different ways with each description.
6. The final step...try and do this with the scenarios that play out in your own life, by taking a mental snapshot (kodak moment) and run through as many alternate ways to look at that moment. Whether it be from each person's view...the pet's view, the pot plant's view...or even the furniture's...any and all, as many as you can
